The Sartorialist Realist #1

I've always wondered what I would look like in the gorgeous outfits worn by the chic and effortless women snapped by the Sartorialist. Could I even find pieces similar enough to attempt it?
The answer is yes!

The Sartorialist Realist #1

Clothing I Covet: #1

Ever since hearing that Evans, the fabulous UK plus size clothing line, has started shipping to the US, I have been drooling over the possibilities. Alas, a pricey car repair has left me without any real cash to spend on some new pieces, but I will hold out hope for that lottery win soon.

Evans Mink PU Biker Jacket £59.50

Evans Floral Print Kaftan Top £25.00

Evans Tobacco Leaf Print Prom Dress £49.50

The Requisite Introductory Post.

I've always wanted to start a blog. Well, a clarification: I have started many blogs, but continuing them past the first or second post has always been a challenge for me. I have something akin to completion ADD. I start things really well. I don't always follow through. It's the spastic artist in me.

This will be different. Why? Because this blog is going to be about something that I am obsessed with and obsessively neurotic about: plus size fashion.

Disclaimer: I am not an expert in fashion, and I will never claim to be. I am often a lazy dresser, despite my best stylistic intentions. One of the chief reasons that I am interested in starting this blog is to start thinking more about the clothing I put together and what flatters me most.

Not only am I a plus size young woman... I am also tall. Like, really tall. I'm 6'3". To top that off, I have a rather apple-like shape. I describe myself as a candy apple on a stick - thin legs, no butt, big tummy, and I'm relatively small in the boob and arm department. Finding clothes that flatter me is really the ultimate challenge.

This will not just be a plus size fashion blog. It will also document my quest for a healthier lifestyle, my student teaching episodes that begin in the fall, and my never ending search for the perfect pair of jeans. Jeans, why must you always be baggy in my tush? I dislike that.

Stick around. I have no doubt that it will be an interesting ride.
